As Tina Turner waxed, Simply the Best, Better than all..........You got it. - Was welcomed with a Frosty Glass of Bubbly at 7pm prescisley, and furnished quickly thereafter with a 3 part Amuse Bouche, which got the party started in great fashion.
Another... read more Dish comprised of Lobster Soup and a couple of other items that for the life of me cannot be named, other than to say they were absolutley delicious.
Chef Patrick then presented us with a dish of Australian Wagyu Sirloin, with the
requisite fixings, Boy was this ever Finger Licking Good.
No rest for the wicked, along came the most Tender Moist Flavourfull piece of Lobster I have ever consumed.
Are you kidding, We then got a plate of Herb Encrusted Lamb Chops to die for.
We was well and truely done, never mind the Deserts which I cannot recite due to my full stomach, What a Meal, What a Restaurant, Bravo !!!!

March 16, 2023Prix Fixe Perfected! - We have experienced six Prix Fixe restaurants in Aruba and The Journey Aruba was clearly among the top two; we are excited by this new entrant!
The restaurant... read more is intimate seating only 14 guests. The decor is attractive and poignant with black and white photos chronicling the evolution of the Chef/husband/father (including a recent photo of the now 7 year triplet sons.)
We enjoyed the evening with another couple at a table for four; however, the seating appears flexible and could be arranged for couples tables or a party of six or possibly more.
The wine pairings ($80) were first rate and perfectly complemented the courses. My particular favorite was Bodyguard by Daou paired with herb crusted lamb chops.
Chef Patrick van der Donk, an “old hand” in the Aruba’s kitchens, introduced his first restaurant, Amuse Bistro, in 2011 with wife Yvette. They earned recognition in USA Today as a top ten restaurant in Aruba before expanding to the beautiful pier site of Amuse Sunset Restaurant (sadly destroyed by fire in 2019).
Despite this traumatic set-back, Chef has regrouped and truly found his calling with The Journey Aruba. Yvette and Melissa (also from Amuse Sunset Restaurant) are “front of the house” with Patrick in the kitchen working his magic and pausing only to describe his fabulous creations. Chef Patrick has done it again! - Such a wonderful experience all around was our night at The Journey, Chef Patrick's newest innvoation. Arriving to the open air courtyard and a glass of complimentary bubbly put us... read more all in the mood for what was to come. Inside soon afterwards, we loved the concept of individual tables, ours being for our group of four. We opted for a bottle of red wine, although the selections for wine pairing definitely looked worth trying. Each course was served to the tables then explained in detail by Patrick and all were delicious! A short intermission back in the courtyard after course 3 was a great chance to meet and chat with the other diners. Our 2nd course of grilled top sirloin wagyu and sous-vide caribbean lobster tail and the dessert of lime cake and coconut parfait were probably my favorites, if I had to choose!
